How do you make a start on your career?

Whether you want to join us for a summer or spend a year getting under the skin of what we do, one of our placements could suit you. You’ll pick up hands-on experience, technical knowledge and transferable skills, not to mention plenty of new contacts. Think of it as your chance to explore.

Summer Students

If you want to find out exactly how business and engineering go together and gain some invaluable real-world experience at the same time, consider a summer internship. You’ll work on live projects alongside experienced engineers, contributing as much to our business as you learn from it. If you have the opportunity to work for us over 2 summers we can consider you coming back, staying in the same team or working in another area to broaden your knowledge. We have opportunities for students studying a wide range of subjects so please visit our apply here section to find out more.

We are looking for students who want to work at the end of their 2nd year of a 3 year degree course, 2nd and 3rd year of a 4 year degree (and equivalent for a 5 year degree) as well as those students completing their undergraduate degree before starting their MSc. Unfortunately we do not offer graduates a summer placement.

Year in industry placements

For those of you looking for an extended period of work experience to supplement your degree with professional development. This is an opportunity to gain invaluable experience taking a Year in Industry, our current opportunities include Mechanical, Design, Environmental, Ergonomics, Aerospace, Economics and Systems.

All alongside a competitive salary and tutoring support from our staff. And if your year’s a success, we’ll invite you to apply to one of our graduate programmes.

Applications are welcomed from undergraduate students who are in their second or third year of a four or five year accredited engineering masters degree. You’ll have good A-level results in maths and science subjects. The placement will be based at one of our ten offices in the UK. Suitable university courses would include systems engineering.

From day one, I have been given diverse and interesting projects to work on that add real value to the client - often resulting in wider societal benefits. There are opportunities to work in multi-discipline teams across a wide range of markets which is great.

Ciaran, Graduate

Frazer-Nash has a strong collaborative culture; it is recognised that everyone has different approaches and I have enjoyed solving engineering problems. No two days are the same and I am fortunate to have a job where I am actually using my degree.

Benjamin, Graduate

Although I’ve had the opportunity to develop many technical skills including 2D and 3D CAD modelling, it’s Frazer-Nash’s approach to project management that has allowed me to gain experience in all aspects of my role; not just the technical side.

Daniel, Graduate

I quickly discovered that with the help and support of those around me, I was able to dive in to a variety of new projects I would never had had the opportunity to work on, and I’m grateful for the chance to expand my capabilities in both soft skills and technical ones.

Isabel, Summer Student

Within a week I was given the opportunity to work on a safety critical software project where I learnt about the testing, requirement writing and software development processes, allowing me to practice problem solving and work with new tools in an unfamiliar environment.

Oliver, Summer Student

It’s my first time working in a professional office setting and everyone has been super supportive and willing to help me out as I settle in. The culture in the company is great and the diversity of work available has been stellar.
